Used to enjoy lan parties with games like Diablo II. We have our computers next to each other so we're together even if we're in separate game worlds. After I watched her trying to get out of the Deku Tree for 30+ minutes I no longer question her inability to get through a game. It's the cutest thing when she brings me a Zelda game and just looks at me with big eyes ala Puss in Boots from Shrek. She enjoys watching me play games, since she often gets frustrated trying to do so herself. I can also loose days playing strategic turn-based RPGs like Disgaea. That being said, I mainly play RTS and RPG's, with a few guilty pleasures like Saint's Row or GTA and FPS for stress relief.

I'm not a hardcore FPS player, but I'm pretty decent. I also don't want to hear about the basketball game while playing Halo or Battlefield. I enjoy online MP, but the bulk of the community and the 'kiddie' mentality that goes with online FPS doesn't appeal. I'm a sucker for a good story and would also much rather have a decent storyline so long as I can live with the mechanics. I tend to prefer single player as I enjoy a good story and most of my gamer friends aren't too into multi-player unless it's an MMO. Get a game for $2-$5? Suppose I only play it an hour - still cheaper than most any other form of entertainment. The single console split screen thing makes for comedy gold. Usually play it at a mates house while drinking. I get on there and play serious but troll the buggery out of people who annoy me. I seem to have fallen into the COD trap and keep hemorrhaging money on the new ones. BF4 will be the same thing (if my comp can run it properly) Did play with a few people when it was new until it was about 6 months old but they lost interest. I still play BF3 regularly but in more of a lone wolf capacity. I've played through both Borderlands but both entirely single player, not sure why just never did. We also did Portal 2 Multiplayer in one solid continuous hit until finished on a work night finishing at about 2am haha. My old Boss and i Co-op the entire Dead Island together over a few long nights when his girlfriend wasn't home. I tend to play mainly single player for a few reasons:ġ: Dont really have that many friends and an even smaller number are Gamers so that makes it hardĢ: Internet here used to be pretty flaky so some games were hard to play online.ģ: Games i do want to try online the gamer friends dont have or arent interested in so :(įew exceptions to that though. I stopped paying for the subscription primarily because of this. I suspec tif I was a die hard gamer and in a clan, or group dedicated to it or had lots of friends that played the game adn we worked together in parties it would be more fun, but the restraints to make that more of a requirment than an option turns me off. For instance a Jedi can't use a grenade, are you kidding me? Who can't use a grenade, maybe I'm not a powerful Jedi yet, and a grenade would help me immensly. I loved KOTOR I and II (liked two better for the gameplay) and while I like The Old Republic MMORPG I don't love it, it's kind of boring actually they have so pigeon holed player types it takes some of the fun out of it. But I have come to find RPG's don't always translate well to multiplayer online. An example of this (because I'm cheap) is America's Army an FPS game made as a promotion by the US Army, I had immense fun playing it online especially when I played wiht people that were coordinated. Depends on the game, FPS are just that FPS when played online for the most part, even if there is strategy in the game play when coordinated with other.
